Commercial Loan Officer – Fulltime, Exempt                                                    Newark, New Jersey 07102

The Commercial Loan Officer is primarily responsible originating new commercial lending opportunities in the Newark, New Jersey; New York, and Delaware areas. This includes objectives related to loan production, portfolio growth, fee income, profitability, credit quality, loan delinquencies, and member services.

The Lender also generates CRE and C&I loans by establishing and maintaining contact with current and potential customers, and by following-up on leads provided by other bank officers and staff. An established book of business is preferred, but not required.

The Lender receives and processes applications for loans to finance owner occupied commercial property, to include construction, renovation, or acquisition, as well as general credit/working capital facilities for operating companies/businesses. The incumbent prepares an analysis of the financial condition and credit history of the organization that seeks financing; obtains approval to make the loan; and executes the loan.

The Commercial Loan Officer regularly reviews the loan portfolio to identify potential repayment problems, noting projects with cash flow issues, vacant units, and other signs of difficulty in order to respond quickly if loan payments become delinquent. The incumbent shares responsibility with other Bank officers for compliance with Federal and local bank regulations and with Industrial Bank policies and procedures, including compliance with meeting internal/external audit requirements.

  • Formal education in business administration, accounting, marketing, or a related discipline.

Commercial Loan Assistant Fulltime, Non- Exempt                                         Newark, New Jersey 07102

The Commercial Loan Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to Lenders and Portfolio Managers (PMs). Administrative support includes, but is not limited to, receiving, screening and routing telephone calls, copying and filing, faxing, scanning, and importing documentation into appropriate systems, organizing and scheduling meetings, and serves as back up to the Executive Assistant.

As the point person for the department, the incumbent receives and welcomes in-person visitors, and performs research to resolve customer inquiries. The Assistant is responsible for completing loan confirmations, and providing loan history statements on request.

The CLA maintains the department’s office supply needs by placing and receiving orders, keeps the department well informed of issues relating to the workplace in general, and transcribes recorded meeting minutes as necessary, while sharing responsibility with all other employees for compliance with Federal and local bank regulations and with Industrial Bank policies and procedures.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years administrative work experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word and Excel.

 Credit Analyst – Fulltime, Exempt                                                                 Washington, DC 20011

The Credit Analyst owns primary responsibility for the underwriting quality, portfolio administration and credit quality of assigned portfolio, working directly with Commercial Lenders and other stakeholders within the Bank.

Completes in-depth analysis of financial data and other information provided by the client and/or Lenders. Demonstrates an ability to supplement analysis by conducting research and evaluations from a wide variety of sources to develop an assessment of client, business operations, market and industry risks and trends. Analysis consists of traditional C&I underwriting with a focus on financial performance over time. Summarizes recommendations with supporting financial reports, confers with Lender, and presents to the Loan Administration Manager, as well as other stakeholders for final loan authorization. Monitors an assigned credit portfolio and completes annual reviews; maintains a thorough understanding of the content and aggregate risks within the portfolio, trends and other key statistics. Collaborates with the C&I Lenders to identify lending opportunities within targeted markets and assists in the prioritization of relationship calling strategies. Formal Commercial Banking credit training is required.

  • Ability to analyze a variety of financial reports, corporate and personal tax returns.
  • Intermediate understanding of loan structure processes and regulations associated with lending
  • Strong understanding of loan documentation criteria
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to demonstrate being a self-starter, well-organized, detail-oriented
  • Ability to work well independently and in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency with Industrial Bank operating systems inclusive of Navigator and other Commercial applications (i.e. Moody’s Lending Cloud, Director, LaserPro). Proficiency with other comparable/equivalent bank operating systems may be considered.

Deposit Operations Specialist – Fulltime, Exempt                                              Washington, DC 20011

The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for accepting, approving or returning items via the Authorized Signature Verification system (ASV). The Deposit Operations Specialist notifies the customer if s/he is unable to render a sound decision on a signature verification. The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for the receipt, logging and processing of the daily Mail Deposits i.e. holds, preparation and forwarding to Retail Banking. The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for all incoming reclamations via check or ACH, identifying and reversing the recalled deposit, and processing all reclamations accurately and timely to avoid charges to the Federal Reserve Account. This includes, for logging and tracking all reclamations/death notices to assure completion. The incumbent, will retrieve all Death Notices daily, and return funds by ACH if applicable. The Deposit Operations Specialist notifies the appropriate banking center when reclamations are received prepare a folder for supporting documents.

The Deposit Operations Specialist is for data entry, balancing, submitting of the daily transactions processed by Retail Banking. The Deposit Operations Specialist serves as back up for other position within the department as required.

  • High school diploma
  • 10+ years bank operations experience or equivalent.
  • Familiar with mailroom processes, including Pitney Bowes mail center equipment.
  • Strong personal computer skills, i.e. windows, word, excel, etc.
  • Good communications skills in writing and orally.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and make sound decisions at all times.

Compliance Officer – Fulltime, Exempt                                            Oxon Hill, MD 20745

The role of the Compliance Officer is to oversee the Banks consumer compliance management program to include a bank compliance monitoring system, a comprehensive compliance-training program for bank personnel and reference system to, provide guidance on regulatory changes. Also, must comply with meeting compliance and audit requirements.

    • A bachelor degree in business administration, banking or equivalent work experience
    • Five years’ experience in banking compliance
    • Knowledge of consumer regulations.
    • Ability to interface with all levels in the organization
    • Good oral and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of Computer software e.g. MS Office suite

Loan Documentation SpecialistFulltime, Non- Exempt                                   Newark, New Jersey 07102

The Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely servicing of the Bank’s loan portfolio; overseeing the production of loan documentation relating to the opening, servicing and closing of all loans. The Loan Documentation Specialist will also oversee the creation of credit files via the Bank’s Director Imaging application.

    • Must exhibit understanding of commercial/consumer lending terminology and applicable documentation related to the job function
    • Ability to read, analyze and apply policies and procedures
    • Ability to work in a project team environment to develop and document process procedures
    • Ability to research and solve simplistic problems/issues that arise within standardized/non standardized products
    • Knowledge of commercial, commercial real estate and consumer loan products and processing
    • Strong communication skills both orally and in writing
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Associate’s degree preferred
    • Two (2) years loan experience documenting commercial loans

Loan Operations Manager – Fulltime, Exempt                                             Oxon Hill, MD 20745

The Loan Operations Manager is responsible for managing the Loan Servicing and Documentation areas of the Bank; ensuring accurate and timely servicing of the Bank’s loan portfolio; oversees the production of loan documentation relating to the opening, servicing and closing of all loans; ensures department activities run smoothly and efficiently.

    • The position requires a four year degree from an accredited institution or comparable work experience.
    • Must have at least 4years of Banking experience in the Loan Department
    • Must have Supervisory experience.
    • Knowledge of loan servicing and documentation.
    • Knowledge of commercial, commercial real estate and consumer loan products and processing.
    • Strong communication skills both orally and in writing

Mortgage Loan Originator – Fulltime, Exempt (Commission)                                Oxon Hill, MD 20745

The Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for developing new residential mortgage business, qualifying borrowers, and assisting clients from the loans origination through the closing of the loan.

Primary responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

    • Developing and fostering partnership with in industry through builder, developers, real estate brokers, and other resources.
    • Analyzing personal and financial information for potential clients.
    • Proving guidance to prospective applicants who have difficulty qualifying for traditional loans

This position requires two (2) years minimum experience in mortgage sales. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills; the ability to meet customer expectations; knowledge of Federal Bank Regulations; demonstrated financial analysis and credit risk rating knowledge; and working knowledge of computer software programs used to evaluate loan information.

Senior Quality Assurance Administrator – Fulltime/ Exempt                                 Oxon Hill, MD 20745

The Senior Quality Control Administrator is responsible for coordinating the activities of the quality control process of each of the residential and consumer loans submitted for decisions. The incumbent provides internal review on the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) to ensure the reporting of the loans meets regulatory standards.

This Senior Quality Control Administrator uses knowledge of regulatory requirements to assess, document, and make recommendations to support the quality of lending products.

The incumbent shares responsibility with other employees for compliance with federal and local bank regulations and with Industrial Bank’s policies and procedures.

Special Assets Analyst – Fulltime, Exempt                                         Newark, New Jersey 07102

The Special Assets Analyst/Officer works with customers whose loans are in arrears to determine the best way to protect the Bank’s interests. The incumbent reviews the loan documentation, collateral, and payment history; meets with the customer to discuss the issues; determines how best to recover the loan and related expenses; and works with the borrower to achieve the maximum benefit for both parties.

Also, the analyst will perform reviews of new and existing loan relationships to assess compliance with Bank policies, proper approvals, risk ratings and review of loan documentation.

The incumbent shares responsibility with other Bank officers for compliance with federal and local bank regulations and with Industrial Bank policies and procedures. Also, must comply with meeting compliance and audit requirements.

    • Formal education in business administration, accounting, marketing, or a related discipline.
    • Knowledge of federal and local bank regulations.
    • Knowledge of work-out strategies and practices.
    • Knowledge of legal proceedings and precedents.
